Happy New Year All -
It has been awhile since I have been on here - had a bit of a back issue that held me down - its a BIOTCHE at 32 to be fighting a back issue already.
Anyway, I have an L69 ( Old Players Challenge Car )car that I started work on a few years ago. I am now in the process of reassembly - however, for the life of me can not find what I did with the original springs that were in the car - which is no biggie -as they were going to be replaced anywho.
Problem / Question :
As I have done very little mods to the car, i am looking to change a few bolt on items like the springs. However, before I can make those changes, I am trying to find out what may have been in the car.
Can anyone tell me what size the springs may have been for a factory 86 car. I understand that this may be a little difficult based off the different options, but a start would be helpful.
Update - Specifically looking for rear spring information
Thanks

Don't worry about what the factory springs were; it's a moot point now.
As far as "size", they either fit or they don't; so I'll only talk about ones that fit.
The replacement springs that you can most easily get, are the Moog 5665 and CC635. The 5665 is constant-rate, the CC635 is variable-rate. 5665 has an installed height of about 10¼" at 550 lbs, rate is 113 lbs/in. CC635 has a slightly higher installed height and rate at installed height; rate is MUCH lower during rebound, and MUCH higher during jounce.
Either will work fine for your application. Choose whichever type of rate you prefer. Stock was variable-rate, but not as variable as the CC635. Each has its advantages depending on how the car will be used: there's no "right" and "wrong", or "better" and "worse". Both are "right" and "good" when matched to their application. Look for "suitability for purpose".
Then of course there's Eibach, Ground Control, etc. etc. etc. for racing and whatnot, but most of those are substantially different in ride height and other properties.

Thanks for the reply - greatly appreciated, with some very valuable info.
The reason I am after the original height and rating was so that i could make some of those decisions and decide what I wanted to do. As a stock car driver, I do have a pretty good handle on the effects and changes, and was looking to see if someone could help me with what they were, hence allowing me to pair it to the front of the car and the shocks that I am planning to for the rear -
Again, your info and knowledge is great and greatly appreciated -
