A friend did that on a 4gen with great results. High 9's with 650rwhp. And it had a stock torque arm but that ripped in half.

I would not waste my time. The stock bushings are probably shot.
You can get new lakewood arms with greasable poly bushings for under $100
Lakewood adj. panhard rod about $100 also.

check Ebay. I got a whole setup, BMR tubular LCA's, Adj. Panhard bar for $150 together. you might get lucky.
