Tech article for upgrading front discs to LS1 discs?

I looked on the main tech article page for brakes and didn't see exactly what I am looking for. I saw some articles on how to upgrade to 1LE brakes, or upgrade to just a bigger size 3rd gen brake, or Baer brakes, but I didn't see an article on how to convert to LS1 front discs? Does anyone know where I can find a tech article that shows exactly what you need/need to do? I know you have to trim your stock rotors down to hubs, but do you modify your stock spindles or use LS1 spindles? Things like this would be nice to have an article to answer your questions. Thanks for any help.

Re: Tech article for upgrading front discs to LS1 discs?

Hey Nick,

Theres actually a longass thread about this in the FAQ Board. Im almost finished my conversion. I turned my hub's at school, then ordered brackets from Ebmiller i beleive his user name is.

You need to re-use your stock spindles, but you must trim the bump stop slightly to clear the rotor/caliper.

The brackets space the caliper up for the bigger rotors.

Here is a picture of one of my hub's

Also note that you will need longer stud's after you do this brake swap.

For flex lines, you can use either thirdgen or LS1 flex lines, however i beleive the thirdgen one is a little longer, so that may be your best bet.

Hope this helps
