worn bushings?

worn bushings?

is there a test to find out if the rear control arm and panhard bushings are bad? I'm pretty sure i need new rear shocks and springs, but if i know the bushings are bad, i'd rather replace it all at once. it has bad axle hop, and the rear pass side spring is sagging about an inch lower than the driver side, but someone told me it could also be bad bushings. if i replace the bushings, i'm getting new control arms and panhard bar, too. any help is appreciated.

You don't mention the year of your car, but the bushings could easily be 20+ years old (the bushings aren't responsible for the sag) and worn out. Replace everything all at once and save yourself time and irritation.

Everything will be available. parts cost is minimal compared to aggravation.

Sorry for being unclear, i was trying to get the post up before heading to class. What I meant was, is there a test to find out if the bushings are causing the axle hop, other than replace shocks and springs, assemble, and test. I know that the spring causes it to sag, and since it sags so much i could probably take it out without a spring compressor, i'm suspecting that's the problem. The control arms and panhard bar are rusty enough, where if i do need new bushings, i'm going to order boxed and tube constructed ones from summit ($200). i'm on a bit of a budget right now, so i'd like to order it all at once and save on shipping if i need those as well. thanks for the reply, though.

Oh, and it's an 84.

No compressor required on the rears. Check Spohn's web site for the parts you require.
