Thump...Thump....Thump...
Thump...Thump....Thump...
While driving my 86 Iroc yesterday, I started to get a violent thump in the left front wheel area. When I apply the brakes hard, it would go away but come right back when letting off the brake. I haven't had a chance to jack it up yet as I didn't get it home until very late...via flatbed tow truck.
Obviously, I am thinking suspension component or wheel bearing as it would quit when applying brake. I would think the brake was centering everything.
Anyone have any ideas what I should be looking for?

Are your lug nuts torqued down? I make a habit of checking all twenty of them just in case.
Re: Thump...Thump....Thump...
Since I just put these wheels and tires on, this might not be a bad place to start. I did take the wheel and try to rock it back and forth, not much movement. I will have to double check this when I get home.

Wolf, you were right...always start with the obvious. I had only hand tightened the left front wheel... Too many projects at one time and didn't doublecheck it....it's a good thing I didn't lose it!!!!
