Shock Travel??????

First off I installed Eibach Pro-Kit springs & Bilstein HD shocks a few years ago. When I press down on the rear something bottoms out after about and inch of travel. The only problem is the bump stops are still about an inch away from the rear. Is it possible the shock is bottoming out? This happens on both sides at the same point. and I don't recall it doing this when the suspension was new. I got under there while someone was pushing down and I couldn't see anything binding or bottoming out. I plan on removing the shocks this weekend to inspect them. I can't see the shaft travel while the shocks are installed because of the dust boots, maybe I'll reinstall them without the boots to verify travel? Does anyone know whats going on here?
