Koni Front Struts are in...

I got the red sport adj models in this week, my mechanic only charged me $80 to install. I still have to get a full front-end alignment next. I also have very new Cooper Zeon 2XS tires on the front as well. I did not get new rear shocks, maybe next year or later this summer if I come up with some extra cash. Mechanic said they prolly should be replaced, after all they are 20 years old! On the other hand, would weak back shocks help squat the car during launch? I need to get an extra set of wheels, to mount up my Nitto DRs for track use only.
My question is on the front adj struts, what is everybody running for the adj setting? Full soft, hard, or middle? I think I got them at 1/2 turn out, which is 180' on dial. The directions that came with the shocks were not much help. It looks like you can get 2 full turns out, which would be the firmest?
TIA!

BTTT.
Doesnt anyone here have adjustable Konis? I know some people got the yellows, so where do you run them?

I run Koni Reds on all 4 corners. The adjustable **** that it comes with will tell you which direction is soft or firm. I change my setting often, pretty much whatever I'm in the mood for.

Do the rears as soon as you can. They are significantly cheaper than the fronts. And what gave you the idea that squat is good? If the car squats during launch that is bad. You want the car to lift slightly during launch. This is accomplished by LCA relocation brackets. New springs, struts, bushings, and tubular arms are also essential for a quality launch.

Settings will depend on the car. I had mine on the sofest setting and as I made more power and was lifting the front end I dialed them to the firmist settings I went from 3 feet in the air back down to 6'' or 8''.

I have Koni yellows, rear on full soft, front, I change them around quit a bit. Right now I have them 1 1/4 turn from full soft. I found that full soft is a little to "comfy". I have run them at full hard and it was a little to much, I tend to keep the fronts 1/2 turn to 1 1/2 turns from full soft.

Yea I know which way is soft/firm. It is great having the option to adjust. Somebody I was talking to said if they rear shocks are weak, it will help plant the car during launch. I really dont know much about what shocks do for a drag car. But Koni does make a race only rear shock for our cars, so it must do something. I am leaning towards doing the rear shocks this summer. They are about half the cost of the fronts, and Summit just sent me a $30 coupon off next order. So that will help. The shop who did my alignment this week recommended doing all 4 shocks.
I allready have the Sphon rear LCA brackets, and the 3 bars back there, and the adj. torque arm. It all works well togethor.

I am going to track sunday for some 1/4 mile bracket racing. I dont have my Nitto DRs on, but will just run what I got now. I need to get some extra wheels for the Nittos.
