Cut 1/2 coil off the front springs ... got a few questions since i got problems installing them
1) Do i need to heat the springs to flatten the part where i cut it ? or just leave it the way it is
2) If left the way it is ... does it matter whether the flatter part goes on the a-arm or up top ?

do not heat the springs, heat is their worst enemy.
once they are installed the upper rings is pretty much flat, i would put the flattest end in the k member and the more open end, if there is one on the a-arm. If not just pick one.

OK, that's exactly what I did, just wanted to double check.
It's just that me and my buddy have had serious problems installing them, got one side in after tons of struggle, continued on with the second one, and now the spring compressor is stuck inside.

after cutting the spring did you need the spring compresser?
Yeah I did ... since I only cut 1/2 a coil

Dont forget to index them, between the holes in the A-Arm. As for heat, yes it is very bad for the spring rate. I have known people who have cut springs with them sunk in a bucket of ice water in attempt to keep them cool. I guess if your going to cut them, may as well do it as best u can.
