Rough Suspension

My 92 camaro has a really rough suspension.
It is all stock, but it hits hard over rouch roads, and seems to be really loose, because when i go over a rough bump, it just bounces up like 3 times and most likely scrapes the front end. what can i do to upgrade to a better suspension? springs? strut?

Re: Rough Suspension

The bouncing sounds like you def. need shock/struts. As for brand its your choice. I would stay away from the Monroe and Garbrial if you do any kind of performance driving. KYB makes decent parts at a good value. After that it goes up in cost drasticly. Tokico's and Koni's will cost you $$$$$, but they are top quality.

Search a bit, you may find what your looking for.

Re: Rough Suspension

ok, you NEED to take your car to a reputable shop and get yourself the steering/suspension evaluation. I know that Sears auto centers used to do a free inspection.
Monroe over the last year or 2 has started making a QUICK STRUT which is the strut, the strut mount and the spring. its a whole assembly. I can't remember but don't these cars have front struts/rear shocks?? Will have to investigate.
your control arm bushings and sway bar bushings are most likely bad, check your tires: do they look like they are worn on the inside or outside? may need tie rods and ball joints. Just had to do 1400 dollars worth of susp. work on my 89 pont. firebird formula (less struts/shocks) and it was 90 percent suspension work. May need center link too if your steering is loose (may need steering nuckle too)
