Tokico Illumina's (setting 1) vs Tokico HPs for a smoother ride?
In my eternal quest to find a combo that doesn't sound like a stack of bricks falling down the stairs, I was wondering how a set of the Illumina's set to their softest setting compare to standard HPs.
I still have the Eibach Pro-kit on the car and I've contemplated going back to the some OEM RS type springs, but I do love the stance. In the end though, simply because I want TO WANT to drive my drive my car more often, I may just ditch the springs as well. The stance will be gone, but at the least I won't have to bring an extra pillow for the seat anymore.

You still sporting the stock seats? The 4th gens are a direct bolt-in & much more comfortable, and you won't lose the stance of your car.

GH-
On a nearby thread (Oversteer...understeer) someone just posted a problem with his Illumina setup. It sounds to me like he has them set soft and the front is compressing too quickly. Check it out and lets see what he finds.
The answer may be Koni Reds. Their compression is set (but not as stiff as the Yellows) but the rebound is adjustable.
I say this because, if what I said is true, having too little compression is a problem AND Illuminas may be a poor solution- with their rebound and compression settings linked.
Did you follow, or should I try again?

86Z, the other thread with Illumina's and handling problems: He had all shocks set on 4... so, I think, the rears are too stiff. Softening the rears should help his problem.
Back to the original.... wil Illuminas, set soft, make for a better ride?
I'm all ears.

I've been running Illuminas for years set on 3 all around with Sportline springs and the ride is very comfortable.
