front suspension issues?

I have a 87 camaro that was swapped from v6 to v8 by someone else. I noticed from early on in my rebuild that the front suspension was sitting several inches too high. I thought it might be from not having a motor in it, but i removed everything, put new struts on and had a hell of a time getting the springs in. Anyway, everything is back together and the front is still sitting several inches high. The only thing i can think of is the previous owner put cargo lifters in to take the weight of the 350. Are there any other causes you can think of for such a lift?

Re: front suspension issues?

i remember , back in the day, that two of my friends trans am gta sat high in the front. my 85 sat level. if you have money eibach sell great front springs or cut a bit off your front. im not expert on this. i just bought the eibach sportlines and they are perfect.

yes i am looking at lowering the car now anyway. i talked to a rep at moog and he thinks they are the wrong springs for the car since so much has been changed. thanks.
