Need new springs

hey i have a 92 rs v6, i have a feeling a i need new springs, but i do not want to lower my ride height, i would also like to make them stiffer so i could carry more weight in my car, because i drive to school daily with 4 friends, so does anyone out there know where i can get stock ride neight springs that may possibly be stiffer.

Re: Need new springs

fronts= moog 5660/5662/5664. all are for V8 powered 3rd gens. they will be alot stiffer than ur stockers. go with the 5660 they are 598lbin rate. your V6 springs are something like 375-400lb in.
5660=598lbin rate stock height
5662=704lbin rate stock height
5664=748lbin rate stock height

the rears all are the same i believe... well for the V8s they are. that would be the moog 5665s =107lbin rate stock height.

Re: Need new springs

Replacing the fronts would help, but most of the weight from the passenger compartment seems to be carried in the rear (at least when I have passengers in my car). Stiffer rear rates would help the most, in my opinion. You might want to look getting new shocks/struts. Their ressistance to compression would help aid the springs. The only way you could get stiffer than stock rear springs and stay at factory height would be to order some stiffer, but slightly shorter than stock (stiffer so the weight of passengers won't compress the springs as far and shorter because if you just increase the rate with the same uncompressed height, it'll jack up the rear of the car).
