Spohn Pro Series Torque Arm

Has anyone used one of these yet. I think they are new. It uses bigger tubing, more spread between the two main tubes, big rod ends, and chrome moly standard. They recommend it for cars running 11's or faster. Which I am no where close to. Now if you fully option a standard torque arm, which I would, the pro series is only $60 more. Seems like at that point you might as well just get the pro series.

Here is the link. Check out the video at the bottom.
http://www.spohn.net/shop/1982-1992-...nsmission.html

Standard Torque Arm $369
Front driveshaft loop $40
Del-sphere pivot joint $22.50
Chrome Moly $125
Total: $556.50

Pro Series Torque Arm $555
Front driveshaft loop $40
Del-sphere pivot joint $22.50
Total: $617.50

Pros of Pro Series
Stronger
ready for any future horsepower
looks cool,

Cons of Pro Series
costs more
heavier
possible more clearance issues
reduced ground clearance

So what do you guys think?

Re: Spohn Pro Series Torque Arm

looks like a lot of extra weight, Im sure its stronger than their regular arm, but seems almost overkill.

and if it has worse ground clearance than the original style, its even more of a PITA.

and they are still making the crossmember out of channel iron, should be tubing.

Re: Spohn Pro Series Torque Arm

Yeah the reduced ground clearance is only right where the torque arm attaches to the rear, so its not like you would be bottoming out all the time. But yeah I know what you mean. Agreed its complete overkill. Maybe I'll call them up on monday and ask how much more it weights. Although I bet it doesn't weigh any more than a mild steel normal torque arm. I also agree about the channel crossmember. It looks like it sacrifices ground clearance. But all the manufacturers crossmembers seem to give up about the same amount of ground clearance. Correct me if I am wrong. Its always hard to find close-up pics of the crossmembers.

I do really like the idea of the Del-sphere bushings. Which is why I am looking to get a spohn torque arm.

Looks like the UMI crossmember may be a bit better designed. But I've yet to see an installed pic showing ground clearance. Frankly I haven't seen a pic of the Spohn installed showing ground clearance either. Anyone got any?

umi's crossmember sits just a tad higher than the spohn one, as far as i can tell. and its much better constructed piece.
