suspension adjustments

ok i have a 91 rs with a 400 small block, turbo 350, 9" ford with 4.86 gears, i had a setup very similar to g-force ladder bars built but with solid rod ends instead of bushings. i run 28/10.5 mt et drags, lakewood 50/50 rear 90/10 front, stock springs all around. the problem im having is when the car leaves the line the whole thing is jumpping up including the rear of the car. i dont know suspension very much so any ideas will be great, if it helps here is a video of the car. http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fu...deoid=61159187 at 1:08-1:09 you can see the differance. the 9" is a custom done rear, its not from moser or anything like that so i didnt have torque arm provisions, if i cant get this worked out i may look into some fab to put the tourqe arm back under it but i would rather stick with this setup seein how i spent the money on it now....

Re: suspension adjustments

If the body rear is rising, rather than squatting, you've got a great setup.

It means your rear axle is pushing DOWN, into the ground, increasing traction, rather than pulling up into the car, away from the pavement.

What are you 60ft, 1/4 miles,etc. times?

Re: suspension adjustments

I would install double adjustable rear shocks, then tighen the extension up to help slow it down. But this is a good problem to have. Do get a good set of shocks(Koni, Santuff).

Re: suspension adjustments

i looked a the video, it looks right. The rear of the car should not drop at all, it should stay where it is or raise up, and your did it.

What are you running up front? are you still using a sway bar? it looks like the front want to come up more but its being help down.

2 things......

#1---Your suspension worked the way it SHOULD. Leave it.
#2---Fire your camera guy. Was he/she jumping up & down on a trampoline? Sitting in a very localized earthquake? bouncy, bouncy, bouncy.....

as to #1 the only thing we changed was it had way too much pinion angle, we raised it up to -4deg, before the last pass. on the last pass the car still jumped like that but the left rear spring stayed at the starting line.
#2 im sorry but i cant fire the camera woman, mom has some money in the car too.... lol and if she ever finishes her phd we will step up to a chassis car haha
