Help me find right spindles for my suspension..

I am looking into 2" drop spindles from race craft and I only see one on their website but I keep reading that there are two types, one with stock steering setup and one with shortened arms for manual rack and pinion steering (I do not see this one)

I have

Spohn K-member
Spohn Coil-over kit
Spohn A-arms
Wildwood brake kit

I want to get a manual rack and pinion

is a racecraft drop spindle the right way to go? Can someone get me a link to what to order? Is the one they have right now the only one I need or is there another? I will probably order Spohn's rack & pinion setup to mount to their K-members so everything is a straight install.

I could use any other opinions/suggestions. I am open to all.

Thanks

Re: Help me find right spindles for my suspension..

Its still in production and not ready yet from my understanding.
I would be curious to know the overall ratio affect of the short arm spindles with a standard 14:1 steering box. It wpild probably be a better way to go rather than a 12:1 box and standard arm spindle.

1) I would tend to think it gives better tq on the steering imputs (alot like a 4.11 gears and tall tires as opposed to a taller gear and shorter tires, same peinciple only in reverse example)
2) would give greater wheel to tierod clearance
3) would give better rearward geometry of the tierod through large Caster settings reducing bumpsteer (MAYBE- yet to be calculated. Iy could even cause a worse problem rather than better.)

Hmm, I wonder if I should get the spindles they have now and Spohns Pinto rack. Worst case scenario is that I loose a little bit of turning radius.

i would think common sense says that if people have claimed the pinto racks have less throw than a standard steering box, AnD a manufacturer is pondering the manufacturing of a shorter arm spindle for this application......then I would bet money chances are it is for good reason. I would not go that route.

I just spoke to Mark at Racecraft. The modified spindles are available:

http://www.racecraft.com/index.php?m...products_id=71

they just have the titled labeled wrong. He said they will get this fixed and the spindles are in stock as well.
