Re: question

Since you asked in the suspension forum - you've kinda answered your own question.

SFC's first, and wonderbar, then springs/shocks/struts, tie rod ends, ball joints, and bushings. To use the top o line stuff, you'll be about $500 short - it cost me $1200 to do new poly bushings all around, Bilsteins and Eibachs, tie rod ends and ball joints, and wonderbar - and I installed it all on my own (no labor cost). I still need SFC's which are coming when weather warms enough to install.

Re: question

Search the board for SFC's and see what comes up - there's a few brands and everyone has their opinions on them. I'd do SFC's BEFORE exhaust, that way you won't have to redo the exhaust because of an issue with the SFC placement.

Re: question

Before people start throwing out a list of parts and manufacturers, people should be asked what the car will be used for. I mean if this is a daily driver and weekend cruise car you don't really need anything fancy. If this will be a drag car the setup will be completely different then an autocross/road racing car.

For example, my Koni's SA's are the best thing since sliced bread, but I also do a ton of autocrossing and plan on doing some road racing soon too. For a cruise car the $700+ price tag is very excessive.

Good point. But no one threw out any names yet per se - I just mentioned what I got and what it cost me.

But I will throw out some with budget in mind ...

ball joints, tie rod ends, and other basic parts - can't beat NAPA if you have one around. They have 2 different part numbers for each part - get the more expensive ones - they are really nice beefy parts suitable for anything and well worth the extra.

And - for most of the rest - check local AutoZone/Advance if you have one to see if they'll special order specific brands for you once you choose - My local Autozone special ordered my Eibachs and Bilsteins for me, price was cheaper than any internet outlet I could find, no shipping charges, and hassle-free return in the event I got the wrong stuff. And with 48 hour delivery, it couldn't be beat! Most of these chains don't stock these name brands, but can order them - and most folks don't think to check because they don't show up on their websites as available parts because they are special order parts.
