Rear spring change this easy?
I noticed when my son's car is up on jack stands all the pressure is released from the rear springs and you can almost pull them out. Can I just get a spring compressor, compress and remove the old ones, compress and install the new ones, and be done with it? Seems too easy so afraid I am missing something. Thanks for your help.

You also need to unbolt the rear shocks, and maybe the panhard rod; no spring compressor is needed. But yes, it is an easy job.

Dennis Mecham raced these with lowered springs, and when the car goes on a lift the short spring fell out. So they bolted a steel cable to the lower control arm and the rear subframe so the axle wouldn't drop as far.

Unbolt the shocks and lower the rear a bit (not forgetting the rubber brake line) and you're set to go.

Thanks guys. I should have known I would have to unbolt something. Seemed too easy. Something I forgot to mention, it's an 88 GTA with ws6 suspension. Well at least I think so cause the center caps say that and it has performance suspension tag on the dash and rear disk brakes. Do they still use the stock springs?
