Power Steering Removal?????????

So... Over the weekend i got a new belt, dropped the A/C compressor and Smog pump... Now i'm thinking that i might want to drop the P/S too... I was thinking that if i run the lines to a vented tank, that it should be ok without the pump.... Any comments or ideas???????

Re: Power Steering Removal?????????

If driving on the street, using a power box without hydraulic pressure will be hard to turn and will wear out the steering box. For a race application, it's common to loop a hose over the 2 ports but this still causes difficulty with the steering.

If you want to eliminate the power steering, the best option is to pick up an S10 manual steering box.
