Just replaced idler arm, but steering is still flimsy...
I havn't had it aligned yet..
I guess it's an improvement, but not by much. What else can cause the steering to be loose?
I did the idler arm because I was told it was bad when I went to get my alignment done.
The old one was loose.. much looser than the new one which is very stiff.

Have you checked your tie rod ends, ball joints, center link, and wheel bearings? Any of these will contibute to a "loose" steering wheel.

dwl...My car had 125,000 on it when i bought it. It felt lose also first i then replaced the Idler arm. Like you it felt a little better but still not tight enough. Then I replaced everything bushings, balljoints, wheelbearings, tierods, I even bought a new AGR steering box. Much better i couldnt beleive it was the same car!
If your car has high mileage like mine did. Thats the first thing i would put money into. That and the brakes those two are the best mods Ive done so far.
Most places have a life time warranty so if you plan on keeping your car a long while you can pretty much replace them for free next time they were out. If you kept the receipt.
