Getting airborn
Getting airborn
Ok I was at a red light and my friend was next to me and I figured he wanted to race cause we always do. Anyways Im getting ready reving and then the light turns green and I pop out the clutch and I didnt really burn rubber just felt like the rear was raising up. And so after we got to his house he told me that my rear end basically lifted off the ground! Whats going on? Oh and Ive got a V6.

It's called wheel hop. Your rear suspension unloaded and the rear of the car lifted up. It's a good way to break a ring gear or snap an axle.

Lower Control Arm (LCA) relocation brackets. Also check the torque arm bushing is still in good shape. Basically your rear end is twisting under load. The LCA and torque arm combined are designed to prevent this. If your car is lowered, or the springs are weak with age it also will exagerate it happening. When the car is lowered the geometry of the LCA is changed for the worse. The rear mount is supposed to be lower than the front. Read more about it on Global West's or Steve Spohn's web pages. Good luck, Lon.
