Bearings in Steering Wheel
Bearings in Steering Wheel
K guys so im not sure if this should go in this thread but. . .
I was installing a new ingnition switch last summer i started tightening the 4 torx bolts. As I was doing so the ring that goes around the shaft started to fall to pieces. The ball bearings were all over. I accidentally broke the black bearing ring that goes around the steering column does anyone know the part number of this or what to search when looking online??
Does this come as one part with the ball bearings or do i need to order both??
Thanks for your help guys

Re: Bearings in Steering Wheel
I would say order a whole new steering shaft from a local parts store. It should be included there

I'm having the same problem with needing a new bearing. How did you make out? Can't seem to find them anywhere.

Re: Bearings in Steering Wheel
I lost one of the needle bearings ages ago when tightening down the 4 torx bolts. looked for ages for it, couldn't find it.
Said screw it and re-assembled. 10yrs and 18,000 miles later its still fine.
Course, I only lost 1 of the needle bearings, not alot of them.

Re: Bearings in Steering Wheel
If there are numbers on these bearings you should be able to get a replacement from Applied Tech. The number should be in the phone book.
