Will rumble strips ruin tires

They just put about 50 miles of rumble strips along the left side of the left lane on I40 a week or so ago and I got off onto them w/ my left tires for a few hundred yards and I was wondering if it would cause eccess tire wear really quickly. BTW I have 440 treadwear on my tires.

not by driving on them for a few hundred feet. if you keep it between the white lines you shouldn't have any problems.
