dual piston caliper

I have an 89 iroc with 4 wheel disk and single piston calipers. I have replaced all of the rotors, pads and used earls ss brake lines. Stopping still sucks i haven't had the master cylinder checked yet for internal leaking, but i was wondering if i could just buy dual piston calipers for increased performance and if so where do i get the calipers and would any thing need to be modified.
thanks

I thought all 89+ cars had the dual piston calipers in the back? Nope? Oops...

I know my front calipers are single piston, i can't remember if my back were, but i don't think they are since the front does most of the braking, can anyone help?

The '89+ rear disc brakes have aluminum single-piston calipers. To get dual-piston calipers for the front, there are a few options, all of which involve changing or modifying your spindles. You can get the 12" or 13" (might require 17" wheels) kit from Baer Racing (www.baer.net) or upgrade to the 1LE brakes (basically the same thing Baer sells). You can get some of the parts from Chevy dealers and some from parts stores like AutoZone, or you can get a kit with everything from Stainless Steel brakes. In reference to your last question, you won't be able to just upgrade the calipers w/out getting larger rotors, and it wouldn't be worth it anyways. You'll need to get different S/S brake hoses too for the 1LE brakes (most kits come with them) as they're longer than the regular brake hoses.
