correct way to install rear springs..

hey everyone

is there a certain way to install the rear springs im asking because when i turn the passenger springs a certain way the car leans on that side and when i turn the springs in another directions is lower on the driver side... im still working with stock springs/struts and shocks.... would new shocks springs and struts resolve this issue... because my handling has suffered greatly and it feels like a wet noodle and cant take turns like it used to.....

Aside from spring's being seated correctly in the insulator, there is no indexing where the rears are concerned.

Does the car sit level at rest? If it sits level its not likely to be the springs, but more the shocks.

The side it leans to more in corners is the side with the possible weak/worn shock.

Thankfully rear shocks are cheap, and easy to replace though.

While you are down there do yourself a favor and replace your worn/old swaybar endlinks with a set of Poly Urethane ones, the difference in handling with just those front and rear is staggering. Partially because most are worn beyond use, and that the poly is much stiffer than the old rubber was.

Re: correct way to install rear springs..

no the car leans a little to the right at rest with the car off when i turned the spring a different way it leans to the left with the car off and when you sit in the car you can tell one side is sitting lower than the other side.....i have new poly sway bar mounts and endlinks already... all of the mods below are less than a year old....

36mm front sway bar with poly bushings
24mm rear sway bar with poly bushings
front A arm poly bushings
new poly sway bar links
Front K-member Braces
UMI Steering Brace
BMR Strut Tower brace
BMR weld in outer subframe connectors
Alstons weld in Inner subframe connectors
BMR non adjust Torque arm poly bushing
hotchkis Non adjust Panhard bar poly bushings
J & M Street non adjust Lower Control Arms

i have done everything but steering components and the shocks/struts/springs...

Though my car sits level, I've repeatedly read that our cars are off from time to time. After installing the springs have you driven around a bit?

Re: correct way to install rear springs..

If turning the springs changes how the car sits, I would bet that its alignment to the isolater is changing (the isolater was not turning with the spring), causing the change in ride height
