Disk brake rear

Can I put a rear end out of an 89 RS in my 89 Iroc. I know that it will fit, but can I put my 9 bolt disc brakes on the 10 bolt? Will changing the rear affect my wheel offset? Thanks.

the 9 and 10 bolt brakes have differant bolt patterns. you might be able to transfer the hole pattern and drill and tap where you need to, but i don't know for sure.

Nope wont work the 89 RS is a drum brake and the backing plates that the calipers bolt to are not removable from the 10 bolt, sorry.

I don't know if the drums are the same from 87 to 89,, but my drum backing plates unbolted. I had to pull the axles to get them all the way off. I took the disc brakes off a 9 bolt rear and welded the backing plates onto my 10 bolt rear. Everything seems to work alright and lined up just fine.
Unfortunatly,, it's not just a simple unbolt bolt change.

Thanks. Oh well, looks like I might just part that car out.
