cannot find the top of the rear shock on the camaro
i was gonna replace the rear struts on my 1991 camaro RS but "I CANT FIND THE TOP OF THE SHOCK!" how do you find it to take it off?

its simple really you have to pull the carpet back (towards the rear of the car)from where your backseats are and then there will be two foam pieces on either side pull those of and there ya go the top shock mounts

lol I had the same problem when I was doing mine. Yeah like camguy said, just pull the backseat forward then start pulling the carpet up from the lower corner's and you'll see the little foam inserts. Make sure when your installing them to have someone in there to make sure that the shock aligned in the middle before you start tightening it down.

I know this is an old post but if you have a convertible, you have to pull the seat belt tower off. So pop the lid and and the top and you'll have access to it. I imagine it is a similar process for other third gens. It's two t45 bolts and a 14mm. The other bolt where the seat connects to can just stay. Also unbolt the top mount first then the bottom and you should be squared away. Here's a link to a video https://youtu.be/JBQhxqiWRuU
