KYB Struts on an 89'

Well, changed those damn struts. MAN, even the Husky 500ftbs impact wrench couldn't lossen those damn bolts. Had to go forward/backward for 20min before it came loose. Anyway, the KYB's didn't come with a new (plastic?) dust cover so I used the old one (cleaned and greased her up). Is this ok? I also noticed the bolt doesn't have the flange on it...it came with a lock washer and a lock-nut only...I used these but it looks like the pressure is mainly on the ball bearing and not on the mount anymore (the way it was stock).
Thanks for you input!

When I did mine, I used an impact gun. Just give the gun a couple of burps when the car is on level ground. I haven't had any problems yet.

No replacement struts come with the dust boot.
