I'm doing a full suspension/chassis upgrade, and I was considering Eibach Pro-line (1" drop) springs. My car is an 86 WS6, has any one put new springs on a ws6? is it worth it? I'd like the car a little lower for looks, but i can live with the stock ride height.

 

There are two kits Eibach offers; pro-kit and sportline. The Pro-kit is supposed to lower your car one inch all around, while the Sportline drops it over 1 1/2 inches, depending of engine size, blah blah blah. Alot of people on this board did not recommend the Sportline springs. They say that they're not stiff enough, and made for "show not go." I've decided on the Pro-kit, which I'm buying this weekend. I'll let you know how they work out.

 

I have the Pro-Kit springs. You will notice a stiffer ride from installing them over your stock WS6. I am comparing my 90 RS (which I added the Eibach springs) to my 88 Iroc (which is equivalent to your WS6). If you need to replace any front end suspension components (ball joints, struts, tie rods, bushings), now is the time to do it. As you will need a front end alignment after the spring swap. Read through the other posts on swapping front end springs before you decide to do it yourself. It is not for the faint of heart. You may want to consider having them installed, or at least getting help from someone that has already done it. Good luck, Lon.

 

I did the spring swap on my 91 ws6, no problems. The ride height didn't change but the rear end feels much better. I went with sensatrac shocks and struts. I followed my chiltons and had all 4 corners done in about 3 hours. Make sure you note where the spring bottom is and re-align the new springs to the same spot and you'll have no problems
