I currently have the driver side wheel all apart but cant get the ball joint out...

Does it come out from the bottom or from the top ?


I have pounded and pounded on it and it wont budge...from the top.......



Please help!!!

 

Ball joint comes out of the bottom off the control arm. Support the control arm with a jack or jack stand, thread castle nut back on the stud, hit nut square with a 4lb hammer, one or two manly hits should unseat it and knock it out thru the bottom. If you can't knock out with youre girly man swings, or your pathetic excuse for a hammer; use the press which your going to need to install the new ones to press the old one out. :-D

 

Yeah guess I just need to man up and keep hitting it. hehe

 

Well I got it, guess it was just my girly swings, had to go have my dad heat it up and then hit it and after about 10 hits he knocked it out. Kinda nervous about doing the other side. But I will prob try to tackle that this next weekend.
