Steering problems

I have a 92 camaro and I have started to notice that there is a lot of play in my steering wheel. I must turn the wheel about 2 to 3 inches to get the car to turn. I think it may be the rag joint. Is there any way to test this joint? Anyone have other suggestions?

Thanks Jody

i'd say it's play in your stearing linkage, or more likely the stearing box and not the rag joint.

Also check the piece connecting the steering column to the gearbox. Replacing that on mine got rid of the 2 inches of play I had in my steering. It was so worn out, that I could turn it with my hand.
