New Springs/shocks?

New Springs/shocks?
How do i know when i need new springs and or shocks in my car?? the car hits the suspension (rubber) stops when goin over big bumps in the road... i know this cause my cd player skips... thanks for the help!

check ride height and if it's decreased is a good sign you need springs, bounce each side of you car and if it bounces more than once you need shocks.
