Swapping a Disc Brake rear into my '83
hey all,
I've got a wrecked '89 IROC sitting on the trailer still. the rearend is out and I'll put it in my '83 someday. My question is about the metric/standard issue I'm gonna run into on the brake lines
. would it be easier to yank all the lines and everything off of the '89? I just figured If I was going to do it, I should do it now because the remains of the '89 will be leaving shortly.
thanks for any advice on performing this swap into an earlier thirdgen. Any help is appreciated.

one thing i think you could do is custom make your brake lines with the fitting you need on each end. i don't know but i bet if you look you can find adapters too for this.

YES!!!!
Yank the lines(they're a different size than drum brake lines), the master cylinder, and the proportioning valve.
You will need all of those for the conversion to work properly

I already had the prop valve and mastercylinder. I was leaning toward yarding the lines too. guess it IS a good Idea
thanks
