I know that on my T/A w/16" mesh style wheels the backspacing is suppose to be 0mm on front and 16mm on back. But by looking at the wheels how can I tell which ones are which? I had new tires put on my car and I think they got them switched backwards. Just by looking at the wheels the ones on the front are deeper than the back is this right?

Yes, that's correct.
They can't be put on wrong, the fronts will fit on the rear, but the rears won't fit on the front.

Not only that, but IIRC all of the third-gen 16" wheels have Front and Rear labeled on them somewhere on the outside of the wheel. Redbird is right, and I had found out by trying just for the heck of it.
