Who has installed their own Alston SFC bolt-ons?

I'm considering getting the bolt-on Alston SFC's for my 87 IROC, installing them myself, and maybe getting them welded in later if need be. If you've done this yourself, would you do it again or pay to have it done? Is it obvious where they fit? If you had it to do over is there anything you'd do different? Other considerations? Thanks for any input.

Get the weld ons to start with, and yes its worth it. A local muffler shop should be able to weld them on for you for $50-75. If you have a welder and experience you can do it yourself.

Search this forum for my name, I've posted the pics of my Alston's several times.

I'd do it ten times again. They were so easy to weld in, i know you said bolt in, but they were still easy to weld!!

92,

Did you pull your carpet up to prevent it from getting burned while welding?

I bolted my Alston's in, ran them for about six months while I procrastinated, then finally got them welded. Not a problem getting them in. I've got pix on my site...
