245/45/17 on 17x9 SS rims?

Are 245/45's too small for a 9" wide wheel? I know 255's are ok, but wasn't sure about 245's. TIA.

I wouldn't try to stretch 245's on a 9" wide rim. I have 275/40's on mine.
