T-Tops
T-Tops
I recently bought a Pontiac Fire Bird (87) and the previous owner said that my T-Tops leaked, well i asked him if he tried to fix it and he said they tried putting a new seal on it but it leaked anyhow. After consideration he decided to completely seal the T-Tops off (they cant come out unless the seal is broken). So my question is, should i break the seal and see if i can get a new seal that wont leak(not Garanteed to work)? If i do, and they dont work, that would be a wast of money, but tehn again i would like ot have my T-Tops open at times.
Well I would break them out and replace the complete t top seals. I would then reinstall the t tops and hose them with someone inside checking for leaks. Me personally I would use clear silicone to aid in the sealing power of the glue on the replacement seals. Then if it does leak you can call the manufacturer and ask how to get them to seal or get your money back, then try again or seal them in again....
Break the seal!! What's the point in owning t-tops if you can't take them off?
You should be able to find a good seal and get the leaks stopped. My '88 GTA doesn't leak at all!
