Wheel hop
Wheel hop
Ok, here's the deal. My sister and I went drag racing the other night, and her dumbass husband told her to drop it into gear from neutral when taking off the line. Well, ever since then, she's been getting massive wheel hop. What happened? What did she break or damage? By the way, her car is an 87 IROC 5.7 w/TPI.

The first thing to check would be the tranny mount, as it's probably split in 2. They're easy to change and Energy Suspension sells one that has an "inter-lock" design so that it can't break. I'd also look for broken or loose suspension bolts and see if the shocks still have any life in them.

Neutral drop is hard on parts, but the posi should be just fine. A posi problem wouldn't cause a wheel hop anyway.

Well, we checked out her tranny mount and it was ripped in two. So it looks like we found the problem. I told her not to mess around with the cheap piece of junk replacements, and to get an Energy Suspension replacement tranny mount. Thanks for the help guys.
