Will 9 bolt disc brakes fit on a 10 bolt disc rear?

I found a 10 bolt with some 4.10s in it for a pretty good price. Can I take the brakes off of my 3.27 9 bolt and use them on this 10 bolt. The guy said it is a disc brake rear end it just doesnt include the brakes.

Does anyone know? Id appreciate any help/suggestions.

As long as they are the same stye brakes, ie early style or aluminum PBR style and, it will work. The only difference difference between the 2 systems is the backing plates. And at that the only difference between the 2 backing plates is the bolt pattern. Sure man I would go for it. Worse comes to worse you have to redrill your backing plates for the correct bolt pattern.

So, as long as they are both 89 & newer, it will work? My 9 bolt is an 89 and I believe they changed the rear discs in 89 right?

Now, if the 10 bolt is newer than an 89 it should work I guess. Am I correct in assuming this?

Yes... I put my 91 10-bolt brakes onto my 89 9-bolt rear end when I swapped. 82-88 is one style, and 89-92 is the other style.

Just to let you know. I have put 89 and new rear disc brakes on a rear end out of 87 T/A(with for 4 wheel disc) and everything bolted right up.
