Are V6 and V8 suspensions the same?

I have a 89 bird that am putting a V8 in, I am wanting to know if the brakes and suspension is better on a V8 car. I found a 89 formula in the junkyard with the biggest honkin sway bar I have ever seen in my life, its way bigger than the one on my bird. Is this a 36mm sway bar? and also, will the rear be bigger than my car? thanks. I posted this the other day but got no replys

v6 springs are for light engins up front. put a v8 and it's going to bottom out more often. Measure the sway bar, can't tell you what it is, you're the one that saw it, not me. For the most part you'd be better off getting new springs all around if you plan on going to a v8.

The V6 springs will be fine, if they are in good shape. I have a v8 in my ex-v6 car and it sits nicely. The v6 brakes also work fine, but I am sure they did make different rear drums sizes for some models.

Brakes are the same v6 to v8 if both are front disc rear drum (unless you find a 1LE thirdgen in the yards, not likely though).

Springs are different front and rear.

Swaybars are different. My V6 didn't even have a rear bar.

if you wana be a drag racer leave the v6 springs in. If you want to handle, grab the WS6 stuff or get some aftermarket stuff.
