Tires

I have a question about the wheels and tires on my 90 Formula. The car has the 15 inch wheels that look similar to the Formula 16 inch wheels. I guess they are the ones that came on the regular sport coupes. The car also has 235/60R15 tires. I looked on the door jamb and it says the size should be 245/50ZR16. Is it possible someone changed the wheels or could you order the smaller wheels and get credit? I know the car is a Formula. It has all the right codes (W66, LB9, GU6, WS6, etc.) If anyone can help me I would really appreciate it. Thanks.

Anythings possible. If it said it came with 16's, then thats what it needs. I would just try selling off what you have and look for a used set of formula wheels on this site int he classified section.

Be VERY careful with the 245/50/16's. I have an 88 Sport Coupe Convertible that someone put the IROC wheels (245's) on. They rub really bad, they are expensive and they only last around 20k miles. I just picked up a new set yesterday. I went to big O tires they quoted me 112 for Kumho's went to tirerack.com they quoted me 86, went back to big O they beat it and gave them to me for 82.86 each, that was the cheapest I could find. Great tires I was really surprised, but 500 bucks every 20k miles for tires sucks! (Alignment and tranny fluid change) But the upside is you get to do 180+! lol The 15's you a warranty. It's something to consider. IMO

Why would they rub on my car if that's what it's supposed to have?
