Hey guys, i've got a question of sorts.
I'm an amateur f-body enthusiast, and being a member of the 3rd gen army, i've always wanted to upgrade my '89 formula to some serious performance. As said, i'm only an amateur and i don't know very much at this point( especially about suspension), but i've been lurking around this site for about a year and i'm about ready to take some action on this beast of a formula. My question is this: I've learned along the way that,as with any engine modding, suspension and rear end upgrades are just as important to help transfer that power to the tires. What would be some of the best upgrades i could do for my otherwise stock suspension and rear-end?i'm working on a fairly low budget, but i would love to get all the performance from my tires to the street that i could. ANY help would be appreciated

I assume that you have an essentially stock car. Are you looking for sreet or strip performance? Do you have the WS6 suspension package? For sreet this is what i would do...If you don't have a WS6 car then a good upgrade would be sway bars. I would then get LCA's and subframe connectors. KYB shocks and struts are nice. That will give you a good handling car. You can lower the car as well, i suggest lowering spindles for the front and drop springs for the rear. That is a decent setup for a stock/mild car in my opinion.

Thanks for the help! I'm definitely looking into the SFC's and shocks. Lowering the car would be a nice addition too. I hate to be persistent, but exactly what does the rear-end ratio and "posi" mean and how do they relate to my car in terms of performance? Oh, i do have the suspenion package that came with my formula, would that need a upgrade? I've also heard that a 4th gen rear end would be a good upgrade, but i haven't looked into that quite yet.
