Neon Lights!
You have to mount "under car" neon inside a plastic tube (to protect it from road debris). And yes, if you bottom out it will shatter the glass.
Either drive the car REALLY carefully (and expect to break them) or don't put them on at all.
I've got more then 20' of green neon sitting in my closet, I never installed it because I don't want to be changing bulbs (at $40-$50 a pop) every week.

It's a show car product. Many law enforcement agencies disapprove of undercar neon lights.

As long as you mount them up high enough, you'll be fine- of course, that's not an easy job.
I have a single 15" purple tube up under my bumper from my high school days. It's mounted to the underside of the steel bumper. Once in a while I'll turn it on- chicks still love it!
Tip- paint the metal above the tube with white or silver paint- it'll reflect the neon to the ground.
