Diff between Performance Friction and Z-Rated

Diff between Performance Friction and Z-Rated

Just wondered if anyone new the difference between the performance friction and the Z-rated brake pads that are sold at autozone.I currently have the performance friction and they work great and have lasted a long time.The z-rated are about $15 more for the set.looking for some imput......

Just a guess but maybe the "Z" rating is the same as a tire?
I think its safe up to 160mph or something like that....

I have the standard PF pads also and have been very happy with the performance and low dust on the rims.

I Have heard some people complaining about the Z pads not working to well when there cold.

Thanks Mike,I decided to stick with the performance friction.I know for a fact there good brakes and haven't had any problems out of them yet......

I'm not sure if you guys know this but they are both made by PF. The Z is a little harder on rotors and cold stops are longer. You probably allready know all this though.

One guy at Autozone told me (under his breath) that they are basically the same as the Heavy Duty pads that they sell for big trucks. They're made out of a really hard compound. They're just not as thick as the truck ones. He said they'll last longer, but that's because they don't grab as well.
