I have been experiencing front end problems with my 88 Camaro ever since I started to restore it. The car seems to eat up the front tires. I changed the struts and ball joints and all the steering components. The tires are still getting chopped up. Today on the highway the car had a constant vibration and the steering felt sloppy. I work at a garage, so when I got back I jacked up the front end to see what might be the problem (again). It took about ten minutes to figure it out. My strut bushings on top of the strut tower were both torn and broken. They never have been changed. I advise everybody out there to have those bushings checked out. All I did was put a floor jack under the cross member in the front to lift just the front wheels off the ground. Open the hood and take the caps off of the strut bushings (if they are still there), look in there and see if they are in one piece. Mine are not, they are wasted. $85 for new Gabriels with lifetime warranty.
