14' wheels when I should have 16's
14' wheels when I should have 16's
My car is a 91Z28 with 14" rally wheels on it (of course it should have 16"s). Is there an offset on these wheels? Can I rotate them without troubles?

Yes they are offset. all 82-92 thirdgens have a -16mm offset in the back. You can have a tire shop rotate the tires front to back, but not the wheels.

I'm pretty sure this is not accurate. I know the IROCs and (maybe?) formulas (maybe all 16" wheels) had different offsets front-to-back. I am pretty sure that any steel wheel found on a thirdgen or the 15x7 Z28 or TransAm wheels DID NOT have a different offset. The ones that did have different offsets have the words FRONT and REAR clearly cast into them.
Somebody please confirm some of this...little help?

I measured my 15's and they were the same. Only the 16's were offset and it says on the back of wheels REAR and FRONT for the 16 inchers not the smaller wheels.

350 with stealth intake, holley carb, 470 lift cam. 700r4 with .5 boost valve, vette servo, tci lock-up kit, B&M megashifter. Richmond 3.73 gears, powertrax locker, timkin bearings, synthetic lube. Custom 3 inch single into 2 2.5 pipes. 1 1/2 drop springs, 1 5/16 solid front sway bar, 1 inch rear bar, custom subframe connectors, custom LCA relocation brackets. Kobel ground FX, current red metallic paint. Lots of other stuff...

Yea, I caught the 14' instead of 14" mistake myself, I didn't hit the shift key good enough! Anyway, I checked the wheels for a FRONT or BACK stamped on the wheel and couldn't find either, but there is a difference in the backspacing. The front wheel backspacing (including tire bulge) is about 4.5 inches and the back is 5 inches. Guess I'll leave them where they are now. I even called a dealer and they didn't know...thanks for the feedback.
