How to swap in a quick ratio steering box???

Ok, I've got the box out of an 89 IROC, what will be involved with the swap? Are there certain things that have to lined up? What about the lines that run into the box? Any lock tight or urethane sealant required on them? I know this sounds silly, but do you have to bleed the power steering lines? Thanks! PAYCE.

It's about as simple a thing as you can possibly do...

Disconnect the Pitman arm from the center link; remove the lines; remove the steering column from the worm shaft by way of the one bolt right next to the gearbox; undo the 3 bolts; installation is the reverse of removal. You might want to have new O-rings on hand for the lines, but that's about it.

Is the pitman the one attached to the steering box? Or is that the ilder arm, because i've had the ilder arms replaced with MOOG parts and i wanna keep them. I know which one the centerlink is, the one that attaches between the idler arms. Correct me please!

Yes, you have to bleed the lines. You do that by turning the wheel to each lock with the wheels off the ground (engine running at 1500rpm). Check fluid, and repeat until no more fluid needs to be added. Then lower the car and repeat a couple more times.

Before you start, make sure you have something to plug the lines with, (like some rubber or foam plugs) so you don't end up taking a PS fluid shower the whole time. You also might want a tie-rod end puller; makes life much easier.
