Construction on the road I live on....continue as planned?

I was planning a COMPLETE suspension rebuild....all spohns parts...new Z06 rims and tires...drop spindles with IROC springs for the front...1-1.5" drop springs for the back....new 9" 3.50 rear end (to go with the 383 I will be putting in soon) Baer front and rear brakes, etc. However, they just started doing construction in my neighborhood (expanding lanes....adding 2 new lanes...landscaping) and the roads right now are MESSED the hell up...there are huge bulges in the streets where my crossmember and front control arms sometimes hit (loud bang is heard) and huge pot holes.....and my drive way has a huge step in it now...not to mention construction in other various areas...damn texas roads. I want to get my suspension done asap so I can put the new engine in....but Im worried that with the construction and everything...if I get my new suspension in....it'll just go to hell all over again soon. The construction wont be done for a couple more years....however...I will be moving this coming summer to go to my new school...but I dont know how roads are over there (depends on where in the area I move). Is this just something I have to face...and being to paranoid about...or should I wait....or what should I do? More than likely my camaro wont be my offical daily driver. I want to get a motorcycle to take to school and work....so I can save on gas and such...and only drive my car when its REALLY nice outside....when I want to show people my car....or when Its raining or to cold to drive the motorcycle. And of course to go cruising at nights or racing with my gf. Other than that...it'll be parked in a garage. Thanks.
