I have a 86 Z28 mods in sig. When I brake it pulls really hard to the right. I had the drums changed and lines and pads and it doesn't pull as hard but it still does. You have to apply a lot of pressure to the brakes to get them to stop. and when you put to much preasure on the brakes it pulls hard to the right. what could be causeing this and how much would it be for a disk break conversion.and what would be good brakes to get for the car. Thanks to anyone that can help.

Sounds to me like a bad caliper. Check the front brakes.

 

the sliders on the front clapers can cause this to.Take the calper off and see if you can slide them they should be very easy to move.If you can't pull them out and clean them up and put a small amout of high temp lube.If it works it can save some money.

Also check the front brake hoses,the rubber ones from the car to the calipers.I had one that collapsed intenally on my T/A when i had it with the same symptoms you describe.If they look old or you dont know when they were last changed or are original..change them.They are around $20 each at parts store and your brakes will work much better.Just another idea.

Thanks guys for all the help. I am actually still waiting on getting my car back from my old man who is painting it. He keeps saying 2 weeks but i think he is having to much fun driving it. As long as it gets done I don't mind. He said he changed the calipers and pads. How much would it cost to upgrade my brakes with disk? I try to get in contact with baer and they never get back to me. I think I am going to stop at mothers and see what they recomend. I planed on getting disk brakes any way but don't want to sto soon if ya know what I mean. And again thanks for the replys.
