AIM Industries seems to be the only shop offering what you are talking about.

http://www.aimind.com/

Their "air strut bags" ($499 for front pair)can lower about 1.5 inches and raise 5 inches (compared to stock height). They replace your struts.

All the other air bag manufacturers seem to either not deal with f-body's or only lower below stock height.

If you do it, let us know... I'm dragging over all the steep driveways around here.

I went to a local hydrolics place and they said it could be done for 1400 or so.. Not sure about comprimizing performance though. are you going to be racing or show??

More show, occasional street "Fun" (thirdgen does not promote any racing aside from track)

so street-show, maybe few runs at drag

My car will not resemble stock..... never again.....

1400... thats not bad for what i was thinking.... now hows the ride tho?
thats a real biggy...

Thanx guys, this is great post...

do a search if it's possible, this has been brought up many times.

I tried to do it on mine but after all the costs of the necessary modifications i lost intrest fast.

put it shortly, if you did it yourself figure on 1500 in parts. most places here in MI wanted around 1000-1200 extra for install. a lot of welding and a few spots need reworking and custom brackets.

i think for show they are really cool, but forget trying to use your car at any sort of track; perforance goest completely out the window.

have you ever driven an old cadillac or boat type vehicle? you know the one's that seem to float over everything, that's about what you get. if you drive with the right inflation pressure it feels somewhat like hydraulics (the worst ride in the world over 40) but not quite as bad.

again, they are a lot of fun and surprising work very well when installed right; just a lot of money and on a sports car you basically loose all the fun of driving a camaro.

will give you one note to think about, the bags can pinch very easily when raising or lowering, so if your going to put it on a vehicle that will be used for any sort of normal transportation your looking at getting seriously hurt; the most common problem is people who exceed 45mph and the bad is somehow jarred by a bump causing the bag to pinch and explode loosing all suspension and total control of the car.

but other than that really bad part that probably won't happen, they're a lot of fun and the next show car i build (non-camaro) will definately have them!

anyways... over 45?

well, my cruising speed on highway is 85-90

so no way hose for that. i just wanted so kick *** smoooooooth suspension, and then i wanted that whole, UP WE GO over speed bumps.... Doeth... yea, that floating sensation frightens me... but after a couple hours it wears off and im ok again, jkjkjkjk,

yea, we had it in our old caprice i think it was.

dammn damn.... what else, what else...
