Hey,
I was wondering if you'd like to compair notes on homemade SFC's, I think im going to tackle the project this weekend and would like to see if you have any tricks, hints, tips, shortcuts etc. I'd love to hear from you, let me know if email would be better. Also I'm not singlling any of the rest of you guys out, if anybody here has done I'd love to hear from you too. I've gathered up my pictures, the facilities and materials to do it, just would like to get some final ideas before I bust out the mig and go to town
thanks!

i made half of the SFC's, the one for driver side. i haven't installed new headers and other exhaust, so i didn't make the passenger one - which looks much more tricky.
for driver side making sfc is really straight forward. actually you can make it from 3 parts: around 3 feet long tube to run along the rocker panel, 1 feet long tube to connect longer tube to front subframe and some steel to connect rear to LCA bracket. shape of the total thing looks like L-letter.
i also bolted the sfc to floor panel from the middle.
anyway, it's easy

mods: firebird '89 four spoke steering wheel and i'm still not running low 13's yet!
Awesome, sounds great. With as easy as this seems its going to be why people pay sometimes over $300 for a set i'll never understand.
I'm going to work on making the brackets first for the LCA mounts, that will be a simple sheer & press job. Then cutting the tube to length with a few extra inches, and torching it and bending how i need it to fit, the x-member piece should be a simple miter cut. I'll be sure to post how it went.
thanks
